Mechanical Specifications & Ad Submission Instructions

Ads must comply with the following mechanical guidelines to ensure proper tracking and reporting.

Ad Sizes:

Button – 240 x 150 IMU
Skyscraper – 240 x 400 IMU
Leaderboard – 728 x 90 IMU
Micro Button – 88 x 31 IMU
Square Button – 240 x 240 IMU

Artwork Set-up Guidelines:

  • Ad File Formats: .jpg, .gif, .png or .swf (flash)
  • Max File Size: 35K
  • Destination URL: Do NOT hard-code your links into banner ads. Include the destination URL on your insertion order, and we will program the ad accordingly.

IMPORTANT: Specifications for flash files

  • ClickTag: all flash files MUST be developed with ClickTag tracking. For information on building your ad with ClickTag capabilities, read the guidelines for creating macromedia banners with tracking capabilities.
  • Static Back-up Image: all flash files MUST be submitted with an additional static back-up image (prefer .gif format). This is mandatory and must be included for compliance with IAB Guidelines. Static images allow non-flash enabled computers to view your advertisement.


Please note: flash files are not supported in the weekly ECT.coop newsletter. If you are submitting a flash file, please submit an additional animated .gif file for use in the weekly newsletter. Otherwise, we will use your static back-up image for the newsletter.

Submission Instructions

E-mail your ad as an attachment to advertise@nreca.coop.

You must include a completed insertion order, with instructions for programming your banner advertisement online, when sending your artwork. We will not upload any new ads to the ad server without the completed insertion order.

ECT.coop Weekly E-Newsletter

The following banner positions will be included in the weekly e-newsletter, sent to ECT.coop users and co-op key staff:

Square Button—240 x 240 IMU
Button—240 x 150 IMU
Skyscraper—240 x 400 IMU
Leaderboard—600 x 90 IMU

Flash files cannot be used in the weekly newsletters. See above for more information.
